Understanding What "Low Light" Implies for Plants
"Low light" does not translate to NO light!
Typically, low-light plants are those that receive only indirect sunlight yet continue to thrive. These plants usually reside a few feet away from a window.
If you have a window facing north, you can position your plant between 1' to 3' from the window.
For east or west-facing windows, place your plant anywhere between 2' to 10' from the window.
With a south-facing window, your plant can comfortably sit between 15' to 20' from the window.
In case you're questioning whether plants can grow with absolutely no sunlight, the answer is YES - provided you employ some heavy-duty artificial grow lights.
Without any light, however, a plant will eventually succumb. If you have a windowless bathroom, don’t put real plants in there. They will eventually die.
I wholeheartedly urge you to welcome the world of indoor plants, starting with one or two from this list.
Now equipped with insights about plants that thrive in low light, I hope you'll invest wisely in the right greenery for your home!
